Super sessions are returning to the NACS Show this year. They give convenience and fuel retailing leaders the opportunity to further develop their own leadership styles while refining their understanding of the industry and its consumers.

Tuesday: Building a Culture of Diversity and Inclusion Among Customers and the Workforce

Working to increase diversity within the workforce and in the food and beverage industry isn’t just a goodwill gesture—it’s a good business decision. Convenience store shoppers have never been more diverse, and they are demanding that brands, products, service innovations and shopping experiences be more inclusive.

Join Kent Montgomery, senior vice president of industry relations and multicultural development at Pepsico, and Larry Hughes, vice president of HR and diversity, equity and inclusion at 7-Eleven, in a discussion hosted by HudsonLake’s Kristin Kelly. These industry giants will delve into the initiatives that they are leading to build cultures of inclusion among their customers, communities, consumers and with their associates.

This super session, titled Building a Culture of Diversity and Inclusion Among Customers and the Workforce, is taking place Oct. 3 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Sidney Marcus Ballroom. Register for the session here.

Wednesday: Hunting Discomfort

Discomfort is inevitable as we all contend with a world disrupted by technology, changed by the pandemic and fraught with risk and uncertainty.

Sterling Hawkins will share his five-point #nomatterwhat mindset to inspire leaders to hunt their own discomfort. “We live lives, and by extension run our businesses, avoiding, denying and surviving discomfort, and we don’t even know it, because we’ve made these decisions, likely from when we were kids. We go about our day avoiding the things that don’t feel good,” said Hawkins.

Hawkins will speak Oct. 4 from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. in the Sidney Marcus Ballroom. Register for the session here.

Thursday: Winning Her Business

“Women are the world’s most powerful consumers and the dominant audience for retailers across the globe,” said Bridget Brennan. “They are endlessly fascinating and always evolving. I’m excited to help the NACS audience grow sales and customer loyalty by providing the most current marketplace intelligence on this group.”

In her session, Brennan will delve into topics such as the power of women’s multiplier effect on sales, why women are the original social network and the demographic shifts impacting women’s buying decisions. She will share strategies, data and best practices on how to stay relevant with a consumer marketplace dominated by women.

This super session will take place Oct. 5 from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. in the Sidney Marcus Ballroom. Register for the session here.
